It had been a while. And she had been bored. Unsettled. Considering the rooftop ordeal, she was going to be laying off the night life for a bit. Those few hours without her crutches and the boot had really wrecked havoc on her body. Muscles she knew were toned ached. Her hands were idle. Even Jasper was loathe to be around her like this. So as she sat at her desk, staring out at the bright, glaring, harsh, and warm sun, she grabbed her phone. She had to talk to someone, and Pam wasn't answering her phone. And the sun was judging her.
At least that's what it felt like.
So her phone in hand, she brought up the now-familiar number, punching in a simple message. "How are you holding up so far?" And then after a second, "A little bird named 'J' was messaging me on your behalf when I was still in the hospital. Bruce stopped by, too. Lame reason, btw. ~S"
Hitting send she was curious who she would get a response from this time. But she wasn't going to wait. Setting the phone down she grabbed her own crutches and started to hobble towards the kitchen. She was pretty swift with the coordination, but where it stressed her was with her cast.
It always threw her off, because she wasn't able to grip as well as she wanted, thus there was an odd sort of cadence. But much to Liv's protest, she wasn't going around in a wheelchair. Not now. It was a losing argument.

Dick was still stuck in bed at Wayne Manor. But since Babs had been around a bit more, things were starting to feel a bit better having her around. It took his mind off of other things.
At this time, he had been debating on whether or not to get up crutch a round a bit and look at files on the bat-computer. Bruce wasn't around to stop him and Alfred would put a stop to his activity if there was a real problem with it.
As he lay there thinking for a moment, he heard his cell vibrate as it sit on the night stand. He wondered if it was Barbara or now. Dick grabbed for his phone with his right hand and placed it in his left. He wouldn't be able to text back with his right hand because of his wrist.
Opening up the inbox, he saw the id on it. It was Selina. He hadn't heard from her since the night she had been on the rooftops. And Bruce hadn't seemed at all happy about that night.
Dick read over the text and rolled his eyes at the 'J' part of it. He decided to text back.
Yeah, I know, got my phone back the second he came in the door. Bruce busted him for that. And I'm doing alright. Sore, but not much ease I can really do about that. -Dick
He then pressed send and laid the phone down on the bed along side of him.

Fussing in the kitchen, she had hopped onto a countertop to be able to sip at her tea. it was awkward, but better than leaning on her foot. But even after sipping at her tea, balancing the mug on the black cast she had insisted on, she was still restless. Reaching over to grab her crutches she was able to at least slowly ease her way back down to the floor, and hobble back to her desk.
And her phone was blinking. Thumbing the screen open she raised a brow. Hm. Why had Bruce been so pissy about Jason having Dick's phone? Shrugging, she tapped the 'call' button instead of texting. For this little bit she didn't want a trail.
As the phone rang, she waited until she heard the click, and the voice on the other end. "Hey Dick. You want a bit of company? I'm a bit...you could say, curious about a few things. And hell, we can both revel in our gimpiness, right?" She laughed lightly, before adding, "I can bring something over, if you need anything."
She was trying to be nice. And being cooped up was honestly driving her up a wall. And she had items to return. Yes, for once Catwoman was returning things, instead of taking them. At least for now.

((ooc: sorry for the short post))
Not long after he had texted her back, the phone began to ring. Dick took a second before he answered it. He wasn't all that sure what Selina was up to. But he would answer it.
Dick answered his phone. "Hello," he said into it. And then was hit with Selina's voice right away. "Sure I wouldn't mind. Yeah, that's find if you want to bring anything over, I'm good though."
Dick wasn't all to sure what else to say at the moment. There really wasn't much going on since he was stuck in bed. He'd get up if Selina came. Alfred was around if he needed anything. "What time did you want to come over," he asked her. His schedule was certainly not busy lately.

What was there to bring over to Bruce Wayne's place. Even the shock of thinking that was harsh. Shrugging it off she glanced around her room. She was sick of walls. Very sick of them. She was used to being atop them, not within them. "Within the hour. Are you at your place, or Bruce's?" She asked, playing dumb for the moment. The two homes were in entirely different areas of Gotham. And joyriding wasn't as joyful as it usually was currently, with the Feds crawling everywhere.
Shifting to lean against her desk, she mentally tallied what she would need to bring with. It wasn't a long list, but tacked to the end she had questions. Considering how he sounded, either the crash had impacted him more than he let on, or ...something else happened. And with her own interment at the Hospital, she hadn't had time to hit up her usual sources.

Meetings with stock brokers had swamped him for the earlier part of the morning. Though he tried his best not to sleep through the excruciatingly boring portion of number crunching the meetings delved into (an area his friend and trusted business partner Lucius Fox seemed to get giddy with excitement over) a few times he would have to be prodded for nearly falling asleep. Still, Bruce’s attention became more alert when it came to the new areas of development Wayne Enterprises was delving into, especially the technology and medical factions. Finally when all conferences were finished, Bruce excused himself for the day—much to the silent glares of jealousy as Bruce mentioned his reason for leaving early due to a golf course with his name on it. Being the owner of Wayne Enterprises enabled him to near basic freedom with his time… If only the corporate men knew what Mr. Wayne truly did on his free time…
Once he was back at Wayne Manor, a change of clothing was done—and now he was clad in workout attire when going to check on Dick. He reached Dick’s room and before a knock was given he heard Dick’s voice speaking to someone, one sided—probably a phone conversation. A quick knock was given to the door and then it opened, he had partially heard Dick’s inference of verifying a time for whomever to come by. “Whoever it is on the other line, you need to cancel with them for an hour or two. I’ve got a circuit set up for some physical therapy—and you need to stay focused.”

After Selina gave him an answer, he was alright with the estimate she had given him. "I'm at Bruce's place for the time being," he answered back to her question over his location. Dick wondered if there was anything else she had any questions on. Though he knew she knew where the place was. All the social elite knew where Bruce Wayne lived. Well, just about everyone did. And he knew she had come to a few of the benefit functions there.
Dick could recall many times spotting her there through out the years of course. That and after establish that she had known who he was and he knew who she was, there weren't many other questions that needed to be asked. And there were not other secrets Dick was about to out to her about anything. Since she had stumbled upon his on her own.
He was about to ask her something else, before he heard a quick knock on his door and it opened soon after. "Bruce," he said at the sudden sight of Bruce in his doorway. He thought he was going to be away most of the day at those business meetings.
And at Bruce's words, Dick wasn't going to start a fight over any of this. He had agreed to most of the conditions of staying at the Manor and knew he needed to keep his muscles up and work on his conditioning. He felt bad for having to postpone against Selina at the moment. By the sound of her voice she sounded like she was going stir crazy just sitting around.
He held back a sigh of annoyance at the sudden change of plans, but he had to follow with the plans. "Hey, I'm sorry but something has just come up. Can we postpone til a little later this afternoon," Dick asked Selina over the phone.

Her brow raised. He was at Bruce's. Interesting. At least she would be able to return the check to him. She didn't need the money. And she already had the perfect quip prepared. Before she could say another thing, she heard Dick muffle the phone, and say a few things, one of them a B-name, one spoken with a bit of disdain.
Kicking her feet a bit, irritated at the cast, and the pause, she nodded to him when he returned to talking with her, instead of whom she assumed was the master of the house. “Sure. Can you text me the address? I'll either be taking a cab, or have someone drive me.” Lame. But true. There was only so much makeshift one could do with two important limbs out of commission. Clearing her throat, there was a bit of silence before she asked her second question, “How, much later are you thinking?”

He leaned idle against the doorway of Dick’s old-but-now-currently-used room, a dark brow arched as he heard a faint quip of the voice on the other line. Definitely sounded female. “On second thought, if that’s Barb, tell her she ought to come over. Wouldn’t hurt to go over some new tactical moves with her as well.” Though he wasn’t entirely sure if the voice on the other line was Barbara Gordon’s or not, he figured he would play the “game” and see just who it was Dick was inviting over to his own home. Not to mention, his tap on the satellite links coming and going from his manor would tell him precisely just who it was Dick was talking to—only to be used if Dick wasn’t upfront first, of course.

Dick listen to Selina on the other line. "Uh, yeah...I can text the address to you," he replied. He was a bit surprise she didn't remember where the Manor was. Sure it was a long drive to find the place, but she had been there before for some of the charity gatherings.
Then again, someone could have easily driven her to the events. Who knew? He wasn't about to ask. If she wanted the address, he'd give it to her.
After her next comment, Bruce's words broke his line of concentration on the conversation with Selina. He stopped and looked over at Bruce for a minute before returning to his phone. "I'd maybe say two to three hours at the most," Dick answered to Selina's question.
Dick slightly cover the phone and looked back over at Bruce. "I can give her a call or send her a text if really want her to come," Dick replied. He returned to his phone call to Selina. "Hey, can I call you back later if you have an question then? Either that or I'll see you when you get here. I need to have my phone off for a while. I have some important business to attend to."
Dick kept out explaining what had gone on with the injuries and what treatment was to come. That wasn't for him to discuss over the phone. Especially, not with having Bruce's standing right at his doorway. He sat up slowly and had his feet hanging off the side of the bed. Staying back a bit to keep his feet of the ground for now. He winced in pain as he moved to get up.

“I'd appreciate it.” It would make it easier to get there, considering she still wasn't sure if she was going to drive herself, or get a ride. At Dick's pause again, she laughed a bit. “I can go do my nails, or something like that; maybe rob the MOMA,” she teased, curious if Bruce was standing there. “No problem. I'll send a text, or call, or something before I head out. And tell Bruce to be easy on you with the boring lessons, Dick.” She added, assuming that because he was back at the manor, Bruce wanted to teach him about stocks, the Dow, or something equally as boring. And with that, she clicked her own end off, leaning against her bed to think of something to do. They could talk injuries and identities in person. Even if Bruce hovered, or questioned why she was there, well, that would be dealt with as it came.

Bruce now moved into Dick’s room, closer to the vicinity of where the voice came out of the phone—it was familiar, female… His mind worked quickly and suddenly a dark brow arched.
“That’s Selina Kyle you have on the phone!” He remarked in a tone that sounded pleasant--like it did when he was being interviewed by some Gotham Gazette reporter or some other media outlet. He also spoke loud enough to clearly be heard over the phone's speaker--quite on purpose. Though his tone was friendly, the look on his face said anything but. “Tell Selina she’s more than welcome to come over after your studies. And I’m glad to s—" But before he finished his sentence, like a striking python his hand shot out and hit the precise button on the frame of the smart phone to end the call. “Hate those dropped calls.”
His tone immediately losing the false preppy touch in it and lowered to his more natural grim state meshed with a hint of annoyance. He genuinely didn’t mind Selina coming over, he actually welcomed it; but, he wanted some things resolved first before that would happen—such as Dick’s improved friendship with the socialite.
“I’ve been meaning to talk with you about the Selina... situation… When did you two become so chummy by swapping texts and calls?” This question also spurned another, slightly non-related question about how Dick came to know Catwoman as well. One thing at a time with this boy, one thing at a time.

”Alright. Sounds good,” Dick replied to Selina. He then saw Bruce approaching him in his room. Dick gave him a bit of a funny look as if to question his intentions of speaking up about who it was once he had found out.
”Yeah,” Dick replied flatly to Bruce. He wasn’t all that happy with the new found situation that was occurring between the two of them. He wondered why Bruce was being a bit nosey over the phone call. Then again after that call from Catwoman on the front that other week, that would probably have Bruce a little more question of his ex-partner’s interactions with some villain.
Though this over Selina Kyle? Dick wasn’t so sure about. He hadn’t told any one any thing about that meeting between the two of them and how they now knew each others secret identities. Not something he was going to share with any one any time soon. Selina could run the tables on him quickly as he could her. Though the alleys on her side were more than willing to fight outside the law on finding out who Nightwing was.
Dick knew this act of Bruce. The public image coming into play at the moment, but it was all in the voice and not in person. He knew there were questions to come on this. Though, Dick didn’t see as much of a problem with Dick Grayson being friendly to a social elite like Selina Kyle. At least to him it was no big deal to keep the truth hidden over the whole Nightwing and Catwoman thing that went down between them to finding out who the other was. He still needed to keep their lives separate from others. And even from Barbara of all people.
Before Dick had a chance to react, Bruce had struck the phone and ended the call. If he hadn’t been in his condition, he would have tried something against it, but Bruce was too quick. And any sharp quick movements will sitting up in bed would cause him body more pain than he wanted to deal with at the moment.
At Bruce’s next words too him, Dick slammed the iphone into the cover of the bed and gave a glare at Bruce’s action to end the call. ”What was that for,” he said in an irritated tone.
He would have ended the call in a moment. This was the exact kind of stuff he didn’t like about being around here sometimes. The way things ran. Then at Bruce’s next question, he was starting to get a better understanding for the questioning.
”Chill out Bruce. She and I just had a run in with each other the one time on the road. I was just concerned for her and told her to call me if she needed anything. There’s nothing more than just that reason for the number,” Dick said. He was half truth and half lies. There was no other way to get around this. He needed something believable and he didn’t want to flat out make up so story that would hold. He’d have to remember to remind Selina of that in case Bruce decided to interrogate her as well. And frankly, Dick wouldn’t put it pass him to go and do something along those lines. But he couldn’t flat out say that Selina Kyle was Catwoman.
”And if you are implying anything else...Don’t even go there,” Dick’s tone grew a bit darker in defense of his relationship with Barbara. If Bruce thought he could question Dick on anything like that or would even think Dick would do that to Barbara, he had another thing coming. And Dick wasn’t going to stand for it. He glared up at the older man before him. He slowly moved to start getting up.

Bruce watched Dick a moment and then nodded, taking the information into account about the budding “friendship” between Dick and Selina. A dark brow arched at the young man’s words and for a moment, the shadow of a half grin could be seen on his lips.
“I’m not implying anything over your intentions in your friendship with Selina Kyle—I know you have Barb and I know you two are very close. Given how I’ve seen Selina to be… You’re not her type, not to mention, you’re a little young. I do think I’m in my right to know who is coming over to my home and when it’s someone like Selina Kyle, I will admit to being curious over how you two became friendly enough to arrange ‘playdates’. If anything… I wouldn’t mind her stopping by, it’d be nice to see how she’s doing after her ordeal. Don’t forget who’s home this is, though.” He popped his neck some and then moved to grab Dick’s crutches as well as a change of clothing for gym practice.
“Then again, speaking of random phone calls… My real curiosity is over just how Catwoman had the number and access to Nightwing’s direct comm-line. That’s the real team up friendship I’m much more interested in.”
Blue eyes watched Dick with a fierce intensity for a moment before he headed towards the bedroom door, moving to leave to allow Dick privacy to change. “Just how is it that you and she came to a partnership? Granted, Catwoman has a truce with the Batman and colleagues—which officially happened AFTER her little call out to you. So when did you set up your pact with her? Before or after your run in with Joker? Think carefully on your answer—and have a good explanation ready for me when you get to the upper gym. And since my house rules seem to have been forgotten due to your absence here, the upper gym is the one by the greenhouse—just in case you forgot that too. See you in 5 or less.” His words were intense, striking, and it was clear he wouldn’t let up on Dick until his answers were thoroughly met. His concern over Dick knowing Selina was minimal at best, and the story Dick gave him was plausible even though it seemed like Dick had left something out. It still fit, especially with Dick running in very similar socialite circles to the one’s he and Selina moved in. The real question was the truce set up right beneath his nose between Nightwing and Catwoman—that one wasn’t setting well at all within him.

Dick was quiet when Bruce spoke. Much like the old days he didn't want to turn this into an argument right now. There was no point. Dick hated to admit it, but Bruce was right that he had a right to know and it was his house. He knew he had no right to keep something like the from him seeing as Bruce was allowing him to stay with them even after their little fall out over their differences that lead to the new dynamic duo.
He had to admit, he would want things to be the same way at his place if someone was staying over. It was more our of respect to give people a heads up on things like this. But then again, Dick hadn't expected Bruce to be back so early.
"Noted," Dick said in a flat, but understood tone on the situation and reminder. He hadn't said that much more to keep his own annoyance level low. He could only sit and watch as Bruce moved about and got the change of clothes for him as well as his crutches.
As he collected his clothing from Bruce and the crutches were now within his reach, Dick tensed up at the next statement. He had seen this coming. And it was going to hit hard no doubt. But he wonder just what Catwoman had said to Batman after that little run int on the rooftop when she had made the call to him.
Dick was silent after the question and avoided eye contact with Bruce at that time. This was something he was hoping would have waited a while longer before he had had to answer to it. It was not an easy subject to approach. The straight on truth was not going to be understood nor taken well. So, he was going to have to come up with something.
He heard the sound of Bruce's footsteps moving away from him and toward the door. And looked at Bruce when he spoke again. Bruce was obviously giving him a hard time on the house rules as well now after how he had acted to him.
Dick was very hesitate and waited for Bruce to leave the room. Once he had, Dick sat there for a moment or two. thinking. How was he going to get out of this one? He started to get changed slowly, mostly while he sat down. Still in quite a bit of pain, he managed to get on the pair of athletic shorts and the grey t-shirt and made his way out of his old room on his crutches, headed for the upper gym.
The thoughts running through his head, trying to come up with something for Bruce. He couldn't just tell him the truth flat out. He just couldn't. And he couldn't right out lie about the whole thing. He'd just have to find away to tell him a bit of how it happened and just leave out a lot of the detail beyond the Nightwing and Catwoman persona.
Within no time, he had crutched his way to the upper gym. His thoughts had been blocking his mind and the only thing on it at the time. He had dreaded the walk to the upper gym to face Bruce. Part of him was glad his body was in the shape it was now, mainly because it would prevent any major physical workouts such as sparring or combat attacks. That was one thing he had hated doing...a sparring match against Bruce when it was answers he wanted. Dick could consider his recent condition somewhat lucky with how things were. What was the worse Bruce could do to him if he tried to avoid the the straight on truth.
Then again, he didn't want to find out. And he still did not like his recent injury conditions at all. It had probably taken him the full five minutes to get there or so. Dick wasn't completely sure. He hadn't wanted to have to do this at them time now with the question that had been asked.
As he crutched into the gym, everything was still just about the same as when he had left. A lot of Wayne Manor had been that way. Dick could remember spending more time training than he did on his school studies at times. But right now was not the time to be recalling old times.
Dick crutches his way in and stopped a few feet from the entrance to the large gym. He really didn't want to answer. The first line of defense...beating around the bush a bit. "So she's calling it a truce is she? That's a new one," Dick started out not diving right into the situation at hand. But one look at Bruce and he knew he wasn't going to take these games. Though that wouldn't stop Dick from trying a bit.
"It was before the attack," Dick answered the first part of the question. His eye dropping slight;y not wanting to get the cold stare he knew always came his way,
